Mahindra Scorpio: Undisputed Champion of its Segment

Mahindra Scorpio is the first SUV of the company that was designed with a vision to sale globally. And, undoubtedly, it is one of the iconic SUVs present, at least in India. Even, the current PM Narendra Modi used this vehicle extensively in his electoral campaigns. Basically launched in 2002, it comes in five trims - EX, LX, SLE, VLX and Getaway. It comes with BSIII Emission as well as BSIV Emission with almost every drivetrain, transmission and safety features. There a total of 14 variants of the SUV presently available in the country. Mahindra Scorpio pictures reveal that it its front fascia boasts company's signature front grille which is quite bold and striking. During the course of time, the company has incorporated some exquisite comfort features in the SUV and it is the reason that its glory hasn't faded in all these years.

Mahindra Scorpio price range is Rs. 7.91 - 12.28 Lakhs (Ex. Showroom, Delhi). It is quite affordable as far as its contemporaries are concerned. It is being offered three different engine options - the base trim EX consists of a 75bhp 2.5L m2DiCR engine, while the LX, SLE, and VLX trims in-house a 120bhp 2.2L mhawk CRDe motor, followed by the Getaway variant which adorns a 115bhp 2.6L Turbo charged, DI Engine. These engines are offered with multiple configurations such as 4WD & AT, 4WD & MT, 2WD & AT, and 2WD & MT. However, the Getaway variant is made for commercial purposes as it can accommodate only 5 passengers, but there is mammoth boot space for luggage and goods.

Mahindra Scorpio features and specifications are decent as the SUV comprises of Voice assist system, Electrically operated ORVMs, Front fog lamps, Middle row sliding seats, Centre arm rest on 2nd row seat with the mid variant. The top-end variant VLX is much advanced as it comes with several additional features like Tyre pressure monitoring system, Intelli-park, Rain & light sensors, 2-DIN Audio system with Bluetooth, Cd/MP3 player, USB & SD Card compatibility, Cruise Control & Audio Control on Steering wheel, Alloy wheels etc. to mention a few. The safety department too is top-notch as ABS starts featuring in the SUV from the mid-level variants while Airbags are offered with top-of-the-end trim. Undeniably, it is one of the finest SUV in the India, especially in the rural regions where uneven terrains are harder to endure by every vehicle. Mahindra is giving it a major makeover and there would be substantial modifications in the exterior as well as interior of the SUV. The facelifted version is all set to début during the festive season in the month of October.
